Shannon Lucas is a Licensed Master Social Worker who is currently under supervision for her clinical licensure. She obtained her license to practice social work in the state of Oklahoma in May 2022. Shannon’s academic journey includes earning her Bachelor of Science degree from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, OK, and her Master of Social Work degree from the Jack, Joseph, and Morton Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH.

With a strong background in suicide and crisis response within community mental health settings, Shannon has honed her skills in suicide assessment and crisis intervention. Her expertise extends to her significant experience working within the veteran and military community since 2009. Shannon has been an active volunteer, supporting the families of serving and deployed Service Members. She has also been an integral part of the Oklahoma National Guard casualty assistance program, where she provided long-term casualty assistance and case management to families of the fallen. Shannon’s personal connection to the military, as the spouse of a currently serving Guardsman and combat veteran, gives her a unique perspective and the ability to work confidently and comfortably with high-trauma occupations. She often says, “I’ve not walked in your shoes, but I’ve walked alongside them. I understand your journey.”

Shannon employs a strengths-based approach with her clients, utilizing a variety of interventions, including cognitive behavior therapy. She also incorporates mindfulness and skills-based emotional regulation tools to help her clients achieve their goals and overcome challenges.

Outside of her work, Shannon enjoys spending quality time with her family and participating in her children’s various extracurricular activities. In her rare moments of spare time, she indulges in the pleasure of a good crime novel.
